Fight Back Now!

An Alberta-wide Day of Protest was organized on May 29th, 2026, in response to a swathe of policy decisions from the Alberta government, ranging from coal gerrymandering to Alberta separation. The protest was not only held at the Lethbridge Galt Gardens, but also across 20 other protests in 15 communities throughout Alberta. Organized by the Alberta Federation of Labour, the AFL president described the event as a success: “What that tells us is that there is a deep vein of anxiety, anger, and dissatisfaction with the direction that our province is being taken under the current provincial government”.

Within 24 hours of this protest, rather than address these concerns head-on, Premier Smith instead chose to attend an event for wealthy donors. Demonstrating this government’s lack of regard for the plight of ordinary Albertans.
